Pittsburgh Still a Player in Steel Industry

One fact people seem to know about Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is that it used to be a big steel town. The huge steel mills that used to line the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers are gone, as are their tall belching smokestacks.

But the steel industry isn't exactly dead. It exists in various nooks and crannies. Consequently, Pittsburgh is home to 25 percent of America's steel mill suppliers, such as steel-stamping company Mecco Marking in the nearby suburb of Cranberry Township.
