Republicans Face Uphill Battle in Congress Races

Though most of the focus this political season has been on the White House, there are a number of congressional seats up for grabs. Melissa Block talks with Amy Walter, editor-in-chief of the daily online political briefing the Hotline.

This year, 29 Republicans — but just 6 Democrats — are retiring from the House. Walter says open seats are a potentially big problem for the GOP this year.

That's 15 percent of the entire Republican House conference that has decided to call it quits," Walter says.

In the Senate, there are five open seats, plus at least four vulnerable Republicans, but only one vulnerable Democrat.
