Thousands Of San Diegans Came Out To Vote This Weekend

About 4,000 San Diego County residents voted early at the registrar of voters office in Kearny Mesa this weekend.

According to Registrar of Voters Michael Vu, approximately 17,000 people have taken advantage of early voting since it started Oct. 10.

The office at 5600 Overland Ave. will continue to accept all county voters 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and starting at 7 a.m. Election Day. That office and all polling places close at 8 p.m. Tuesday, but people in line will be allowed to vote.

People who haven't already sent back their mail ballots can drop them off at the registrar's office or one of several locations around the county during their regular business hours.

Vu said a little more than 500,000 mail ballots have been returned. Voters can check the status of their mail ballot here.
