There's still a chance for thunderstorms the next few days in San Diego County. The blustery weather could affect the Miramar Air Show this weekend.
What a day Thursday: Dry lightning brought a Red Flag Warning for fire danger along with gusty winds and thunderstorms.
National Weather Service meteorologist Dan Atkin said San Diego gets weather like this once or twice a year.
Fire agencies around the county reported a number of fires touched off by lightning strikes, but none of the blazes were significant.
Atkin said the scant amount of rain the county received will do little to ease the fire danger.
"No matter what we had over the winter everything dries out over the summer," said Atkin. "All of the fuels are quite dry."
As to the weather for the Miramar Air Show, Atkin said there could be some thunderstorms that could affect the show.
Atkin said a weather system off the coast will continue to bring a chance of rain showers and thundershowers through Saturday.
