A wildfire that blackened about 25 acres near Lake Henshaw, destroyed a home and three outbuildings and knocked out power in the area for a time was fully contained this afternoon, authorities reported.
The blaze erupted for unknown reasons in rugged terrain off state Route 76, near Morettis Junction in the Santa Ysabel area around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Cal Fire.
Fire crews halted its spread in about 90 minutes, and no injuries were reported.
The fire caused a problem in San Diego Gas & Electric's system and power was lost to some utility customers in Santa Ysabel, the La Jolla Indian Reservation, Mesa Grande and in the Lake Henshaw area. The outage struck shortly after noon Thursday.
As of about 9:30 a.m., 69 utility customers remained in the dark, according to SDG&E. Utility officials estimated service would be fully restored by 4 p.m.
