  • Prost, San Diego! The 9th Annual East Village Oktoberfest returns to Quartyard on Saturday, September 20 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., bringing Munich vibes with a SoCal twist. Co-hosted by Quartyard and the East Village Association, the one-day event will feature craft beer, festive bites, live music, and games in a lively seated beer hall atmosphere. Expect Bavarian classics like pretzels and sausages alongside El Comal’s Mexican flavors, plus a lineup of live Polka music, tribute bands, and high-energy performances. Adding to the excitement, attendees can compete in lively Oktoberfest-themed games and competitions, hosted by local favorite SDHosted. Directed and edited with the skill of a lifelong cinematographer Bob Campi, this biopic captures the rise, fall, and ultimate redemption of visionary who changed the world of surfing forever. that was a trailblazer throughout his career. The filmmakers tell his story with phenomenal cinematography and archival footage coupled with this retro soundtrack, this film will take you back to the era where surfers and board designers redefined what riding a wave could be.
