The artists of Village Arts Center invite you to visit their working artist studios and colorful courtyard in Balboa Park. These working art studios enable visitors to meet artists, see them working, collect one-of-a-kind creations, take a class, and enjoy the unique atmosphere. Their 36 working artist studios, galleries and art guilds host over 200 local juried artists. The Center offers classes, workshops and art camps all year long. This tour will examine the clever adaptations and beauty of the many fascinating forms. Forever Balboa Park offers thematic park tours that focus on the park’s unique biodiversity and highlight the park’s horticultural wonders on the first Saturday of each month. Led by park volunteer and horticultural enthusiast Bill Edwards, the free tours leave from the Visitors Center at 10 a.m. unless otherwise indicated. Walks last 90 minutes and are typically less than 1 mile on level terrain. It is advised that potential attendees contact the Balboa Park Visitors Center prior to the scheduled walk to determine if there are any last-minute changes or cancellations to the tours. All are welcome to the opening reception of the "Many Hands, One Passion" exhibition! Meet the artists, listen to live music, and enjoy light refreshments. The exhibit is curated by the San Diego Potters' Guild and will run from January 13 - April 12. The San Diego Potters' Guild is an association of more than 40 San Diego area potters located in Studio 29 in Balboa Park's historic Spanish Village. The Guild's mission is to foster the common interest and growth of all of its members and to stimulate public interest in the ceramic arts. The Guild is highly committed to giving back to the community by providing various educational opportunities. Studio 29 consists of a front gallery, a work area with potter's wheels, and both electric and gas kilns. The gallery offers a wide variety of high quality handmade functional and decorative wares, and every day you can watch potters at work. Themed shows rotate in our central gallery, and, on the second full weekends in June and November, our semiannual sales fill the Spanish Village patio with thousands of pots. Also, some of our members offer ceramics classes for adults and children, and we sponsor ceramic workshops on a yearly basis. The Guild is open daily, 11a.m. - 4 p.m., except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Awards finalist and Artist in Residence at the prestigious Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University), San Diego Dance Legend Donna Flournoy, and the talented dance staff of San Diego Civic Dance Arts. Along with breathtaking costumes, imaginative set pieces and gorgeous theatrical lighting, our professionally trained dancers deliver a show that is certain to impress. Suitable for all ages.
