It’s a story about sustainability, community, and connection — about building a better future. Join us on October 5 as we celebrate the inaugural San Diego Climate Week at Coastal Roots Farm in Encinitas, CA, with the free premiere of "The Threads Between Us." Produced by local sustainability agency thinkPARALLAX, the film explores the connections that weave San Diego’s sustainable business community together — from Dr. Bronner’s to Jimbo’s Naturally to Goodwill Industries at San Diego County. The event will also include live silk screen printing of Goodwill t-shirts, a panel featuring the businesses showcased in the film, refreshments, and live music. - 4:30-6:15 p.m.: Business Showcase and Mixer - With live music from Wild Caravan, enjoy tapas and drinks while connecting with local sustainable business leaders. - 6:15-7 p.m.: Sustainable Business Panel - Learn from local businesses including Dr. Bronner’s, Jimbo’s Naturally, and Goodwill Industries of San Diego County as they share insights on leveraging business for good. - 7-8 p.m.: Film night including "The Threads Between Us" film premiere - Bring your lawn chair or blanket and discover the San Diego sustainability story with a documentary produced by thinkPARALLAX, featuring Dr. Bronner’s, Jimbo’s Naturally, and the San Diego Goodwill. PANCA will be showing a whole new body of work of more than 15 paintings and a mural. With this exhibition, PANCA reflects on the binational and transborder experience amid the political turmoil and violent immigration policies. "Me voy pa´l pueblo" is the dream of escaping the current USA administration and, a look into Paola´s experience of moving back to Mexico after living in the USA for 3 years. "ME VOY PA’L PUEBLO" is a homage to the immigrant community who just like Paola´s parents, moved to the USA when she was a child, in search of a better life.
