Elevate the season at Clicquot in the Clouds, an elegant lounge featuring Veuve Clicquot, created in partnership with Moët Hennessy and set high above the city on the 32nd floor of the Seaport Tower. For the first time, this normally private venue opens its doors to the public, transforming into a sparkling sanctuary with sweeping views of the skyline and bay. Guests can enjoy Veuve Clicquot by the glass at some of the most alluring price points in the city, or indulge in Dom Pérignon by the glass for a truly elevated experience. The cocktail program showcases inventive creations such as the Bad & Boujee and the Wagyu Smoked Old Fashioned, paired with refined bites including Sanctuary Oysters and Grass-Fed Beef Sliders with Truffle Parmesan Frites. Open to guests 21 and over, Clicquot in the Clouds welcomes visitors daily from December 19 through New Year’s Eve.   • After-School Painting Class // Ages 6-8 This painting class is designed especially for young artists who are ready to explore the colorful world of painting! Each week introduces a new artistic skill—like mixing colors, using different brushstrokes, and creating simple shapes and textures—while encouraging kids to express their own unique ideas. Students will work with acrylic paints on paper and canvas as they create landscapes, animals, abstract art, and more. Throughout the course, artists will: - Discover primary and secondary colors - Practice brush control and basic painting techniques - Learn how to plan and build a picture step-by-step - Explore creative themes that spark storytelling and self-expression - Build confidence as young artists through positive guidance and fun learning environment By the end of six weeks, each artist will have a portfolio of artwork and a stronger understanding of how to use paint as a tool for creativity. As they explore idea development and practice foundational skills, students will create both functional and decorative pieces. The class wraps up with fun and functional final projects that showcase their creativity and growth. A long tradition of the Holiday Bowl, this exciting family event brings together world-class marching bands, magnificent floats, entertaining drill teams and a procession of enormous balloons – more than any other parade! Over 100,000 street-side spectators will enjoy the parade along with a nationwide television audience. Street-side viewing of the parade is FREE! For the best view, you can buy Grandstand Seating Tickets. The parade festivities will begin with the annual Holiday Bowl 5K Run/Walk. Taking place along San Diego’s beautiful harbor front, all participants will receive a finisher medal at the conclusion of the event!
  • Explore ceramic handbuilding & funky glazes! Mondays, January 5, 12, 19, 26, February 9, from 6-8:30 p.m., with the last class of the series from 6-9 p.m. Ages 15+ welcome! In this 5-week series, students will learn the basics of handbuilding to create functional pieces with an emphasis on decorative techniques. Working with mid fire clay, we will explore various methods of building forms and decorative techniques with underglazes, slips, glaze, and various experimental materials. Students will complete multiple projects throughout the course with an artistic and creative approach to decorative designs. Inspired by printmaking, painting and drawing, we will explore image transfers, mark making, layering, stencils, and more! Through the use of technique and materials, students will explore the fusion of 2D art and 3D form. Students will be able to utilize a wide array of glazes and colors through the course. The instructor will have a wide array of custom decorative materials for use and sale. Projects will be ready to pick up 3-4 weeks after the last class. All materials provided. Additional materials available via the instructor for a fee.   • Explore surface design marbling & diffusion! Tuesdays, January 6, 13, 20, 28 & February 10, from 6-8:30 p.m., with last class in the series from 6-9 p.m. Ages 16+ welcome! In this 5-week series, students create functional pieces with an emphasis on decorative techniques for surface design. We will explore colorful marbling techniques and mocha diffusion, in addition to marbling with slips and glazes. Working with mid fire clay, students will complete multiple projects and will be able to utilize a wide array of glazes and colors throughout the course. Beginning and more advanced students will learn the basics of handbuilding to create pieces that we’ll utilize the skills on that we explore in class. Projects will be ready to pick up 3-4 weeks after the last class. Materials fee $30 paid to instructor.   • Learn to Weave! Saturday, January 10, 1-5 p.m. Join us for an afternoon of fiber friendship and camaraderie. Weaving is an ancient craft; it shelters and clothes as well as adorns our spaces, adding texture, color, design and inspiration to our lives. And it is the actual process of weaving, along with selecting fibers, natural objects; guiding weft through the vertical foundation of warp strings; creating pattern/texture as the process unfolds…these steps continue to connect us with the past, and more importantly, with ourselves. Join in this weaving workshop as we weave intuitively and work together in a space of creativity and openness. Our Instructor will provide guidance in a variety of weaving techniques and will surround you with warped looms to work on, tools to learn with, natural fibers, and foraged and gathered natural objects to incorporate into your weavings. Feel free to bring your own items to weave into your piece, especially if there are any fibers/yarns, stones/crystals, shells, leaves/grasses, etc. that you’d like to experiment with. Each weaver will complete a one-of-a-kind woven textile. We’ll have rods on hand for those who would like to adapt their pieces into wall hangings.   • Learn to throw ceramics on a wheel! Sundays, January 4, 11, 18, 25 & February 8, from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Ages 16+ years welcome! Refine your throwing skills and explore various forms. Weekly demonstrations are given in this intermediate class. Demonstrating forms such as sectional throwing, throwing off the hump, making lids, colored slips, as well as making your own colored clay and designs. In this 5-week course, intermediate students can refine techniques, explore new forms, and build consistency. Individual guidance meets you where you’re at, assisting returning to the wheel with more confidence. The class will begin with an overview of the basics (wedging, centering, pulling, etc) to build a solid foundation and help give students confidence to take on more complex forms.
