  • Many people reported a distortion in their sense of time during the pandemic, but the individual experience is highly dependent on a range of factors from emotional state to culture.
  • Returning to the stripped-back, string band sound of their busking years, Lost Dog Street Band’s new album "Glory" is a searing testament to recovery, redemption and resolve. Fronted by songwriter Benjamin Tod and his wife, fiddler Ashley Mae, the DIY band began out of desperation on the sidewalks of Nashville roughly a decade ago, but now sustains a significant national audience that’s drawn to their authentic songwriting, old-time instrumentation, and hard-won independence. “I wanted to make an album with the specific intention of being raw but full at the same time and to get back to our roots,” Benjamin Tod says. “Everyone on this album has been a busker. Douglas Francisco, who plays slide guitar — I met him on the streets busking. Jeff Loops, our bassist, was in a busking band, too. That flavor was important to me, just getting back to the root of things.” Genre: country Matt Heckler is a solo multi-instrumentalist that barely fits into any ordinary musical category. He tends to keep to the darker side of Appalachian mountain music and early bluegrass but listen long enough and you’ll soon be transported to the mountains of Eastern Europe or a dimly lit bar in Ireland where they honor those who have passed with a gently swaying a cappella ballad. Ticket Price: $30 advanced / $30 day of show / $53 reserved loft seating (available over the phone or in person at out box office) / $100 4 - Pack of GA tickets ($25 each) - available online only For more information about the show, visit https://bellyup.com/email-builder/lost-dog-street-band Visit Belly Up on Facebook + Instagram + @BellyUpMusic on Twitter Visit Lost Dog Street Band on Facebook + Instagram Visit Matt Heckler on Facebook + Instagram

  • Please join Julia and Aaron Morgan, members of the Mark Jackson Band, Grand Canyon Sundown, Drew Decker, David Sherry, and others for a performance to honor beloved songwriter, producer, and legendary pedal steel guitarist, David R. Morgan. Born in New York City and raised in Melvin, Illinois, David Morgan made his home in San Diego County in 1977 following a successful young career as a touring multi-instrumentalist with country and western bands in New England. He quickly earned a reputation as one of the most prolific and sought-after musicians in North County, particularly for his performances on the pedal steel guitar. In 1992 Morgan co-founded Spare Change with former Los Angeles and Bakersfield studio veteran Randy Sterling (Neil Diamond, Frank Zappa, Harry Nilsson) and fiddle player Stacey Slaughter. The trio released five albums and performed extensively throughout San Diego County. Morgan and Sterling established ‘Morgan Ranch Studios’ at Morgan’s home in Encinitas as a creative outpost to record their music and other local singer-songwriters. In addition to Spare Change, Morgan has recorded and played with numerous artists including The Mark Jackson Band, Grand Canyon Sundown, and his son, Aaron’s bands Golden Void and The Finches. David Morgan’s latest solo album, "Hindsight," pulls from material recorded 2010-2020 and was completed in the final months of his life. Though David will be missed, his music will live with us forever.

  • There's nothing mythic about this series, which acts as a sequel to Paul Schrader's hit 1980 movie. This American Gigolo relies too much on people caring about a film that was made four decades ago.
