  • Sunday, June 15, from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. Come and explore the gorgeous natural blue of indigo in this Fiber Fest Sunday workshop. Students will learn a range of shibori dye resist processes in this hands-on, creative workshop, including tegumo (spiderweb), ori nui (stitched), and itajime (clamped) shibori methods. We will be using a natural indigo vat to dye a bamboo scarf and better understand the process and symbiotic relationship with indigo dye and this traditional textile surface design. Students will acquire the basic techniques to continue their journey into creating beautiful, unique textiles. This class is appropriate for ages 14+ years old. No prior experience necessary. All ages welcome! All materials included. This workshop is part of Craft Collective’s 2nd annual Fiber Fest! Join in the main day of festivities on Saturday, June 14th, for a day filled with fiber fun! It’ll be a vibrant celebration of natural textiles and sustainability, bringing together fiber artists, artisans, sustainability advocates, and local farmers. On June 14th, we’ll host a live demonstration of sheep shearing, more live artist-artisan demonstrations, interactive craft for families, artist vendors, food and more.
