  • In this first beginner sewing class students will learn how to thread a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, sew a straight stitch and pivot a corner. We will construct a pillow case together. You will also learn some very basic info about fabrics. If time allows for each student you will also learn how to finish your raw edges of the fabric using a zigzag stitch. You will leave class with a finished pillowcase. All materials are included. It’s best to learn on your own sewing machine, but you may also borrow one of ours. Please note, if bringing your own sewing machine it is very important to make sure it is fully functional. You will need all the cords, the manual, the presser foot, at least 1 bobbin and the bobbin case. Check this ahead of time. ***If you’re attending with your child, and participating only as support, just purchase 1 enrollment. No experience necessary. Adults and age 7+ (with adult) welcome! You will learn to install a zipper, add lining and construct a pouch. You will apply the skills you learned in series 101 and 102 to this class to help you with all the finished touches of your pouch. It’s best to bring your own sewing machine, but you may also borrow one of ours. If bringing your own machine you MUST have a zipper foot to use with your sewing machine. Please note if bringing your own sewing machine it is very important to make sure it is fully functional. ***If you’re attending with your child, and participating only as support, just purchase 1 enrollment.
