Guests will be invited to hold the Peace Torch and offer their own wish for a more harmonious world community. An exhibition of Peace Run photos from around the world will be on display. The international team of runners on the Peace Run will arrive in San Diego May 8 for a week of events including school assemblies and tree plantings. Founded by peace ambassador Sri Chinmoy in 1987, the Peace Run is a non-political, non-profit event and is the world’s largest torch relay. More than 7-million people have participated by running or holding the Peace Torch including Pope Francis, President Nelson Mandela, Queen Elizabeth II, Saint Mother Teresa, Muhammad Ali, state governors, city mayors and celebrities around the world. The Noble Learning shop and gallery is located in the Normal Heights neighborhood of San Diego. Jyoti-Bihanga Vegetarian Restaurant, a co-sponsor of the event, will provide appetizers. There is no fee for this event. All ages are welcome.
