On Friday, June 7, movie lovers are invited to gather at North City’s plaza to watch the family-favorite movie and enjoy special appearances from themed movie characters, Elsa and Anna. The fun kicks off with games, family activities, and themed character meet-and-greets at 5 p.m., followed by the movie screening at 6:30 p.m. Limited seating will be available, but everyone is encouraged to bring low chairs and blankets to create a cozy movie viewing experience in the open air pop-up theater. Movie goers will receive complimentary popcorn and can purchase an array of bites from North City’s eateries. Options will include favorites like pizza from Buona Forchetta, custom ice cream from award-winning Wynston’s Ice Cream, cookies from popular vegan bakery, Maya’s Cookies, and handheld bites from Milonga Empanadas.   • Mi Gente CA, award-winning arts & culture organization with a mission to support underrepresented artists, announces its highly anticipated “Block Party” event. This festival marks the first city in Mi Gente CA’s expansion throughout California, and will precede the organization’s creative cultural work in San Diego County. The event will feature approximately 25 arts vendors, food and drink options, a live DJ performance, and games for all to enjoy. The event will take place at Mujeres Brew House on June 9, 2024, from Noon-6 p.m. The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public with a suggested ticket donation to support the festival and future programming of the organization.
