Kick off the new year with the Borrego Art Institute and its annual showcase of contemporary Latin American art. In the north gallery, award-winning painter Jose Luis Nunez will present a solo exhibit of 20 original paintings highlighting the southern California desert. CHA is hosting an orientation and training session on Thursday, January 11, at 2 p.m. in the Coronado Historical Association's lecture hall for anyone interested in volunteering for the Island Icons Program This session will equip volunteers with the necessary skills and insights needed to excel in this unique role. This project is ideally suited for individuals who are passionate about preserving history, enjoy engaging in conversations, and are comfortable writing articles within the specified word count.
