"Indian Country" follows a newly arranged married couple’s journey from India to Montana, and their firsthand experiences enduring colonialism and racism in the American West. Rao, who moved to the United States at age seven, is also the author of the short story collection, "An Unrestored Woman," and the novel, "Girls Burn Brighter." Rao is also the winner of the Katherine Anne Porter Prize in Fiction and was a Grace Paley Teaching Fellow at The New School. The event is free and open to the public.
