Start off your Independence Day celebration a day early by bringing a beach chair and the whole family to enjoy Oceanside Fireworks Show. The City of Oceanside will host an incredible fireworks display on Monday, July 3, 2025, at SoCal Soccer Complex at El Corazon. Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. There will be food available onsite beginning at 5:30 p.m. This year’s event will feature live entertainment, a family fun zone with inflatables, a picnic area, and food vendors. The SoCal Soccer Complex at El Corazon is located at 3300 El Corazon Drive. Parking will be available at the SoCal lot for $12 per car and free parking will be available at the adjacent Ocean Ranch Business Park. RV’s and buses are not permitted. The spirit of innovation is alive and well in North County as young entrepreneurs prepare to launch their very own businesses at the Acton Children’s Business Fair on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at North County Mall’s Center Court (First Floor). As the largest entrepreneurship event for kids in North America, the fair provides a unique platform for children up to age 13 to create and showcase their own businesses. From handmade crafts and custom treats to original services and products, each booth is entirely youth-led—designed, marketed, and managed by the kids themselves. Sean Kurth serves as the director of membership at KPBS. Sean’s role is central to the station’s ability to serve members by leading a division that includes audience services, engagement, administration, acquisition and on-air fundraising for TV, radio and digital. Since he joined KPBS in March 2024, the station has experienced a significant increase in membership and local financial support – which Sean attributes to the spirit of generosity from San Diegans as well as the excellence of his team and partners.
