Explore the world of installation and performance art as you experiment with scale, collaboration, and innovation: Together, create a large-scale sculpture inspired by artists in the Museum’s collection. Dive into immersive video and sound installations using iPads, taking cues from the works of Sterling Ruby, Ed Ruscha, and Fox Maxy. Create wearable art and puppets inspired by Nick Cave and Mickalene Thomas, culminating in a collaborative performance piece. Schedule Day 1: Begin transforming the space around! Create puppets that either dangle from a string or become part of your hand and move in the space, while imagining their personality. Use digital and mixed media materials to create sculptures that will become part of your collective installation. Integrate images and sounds and create a wearable sculpture, as you combine all the elements into an installation and performance piece to share with parents! Top: Photography: Delana Delgado.
