Over six weeks, they’ll learn safety practices, stitching basics, machine navigation, and troubleshooting while growing confident in their technical abilities. As they explore idea development and practice foundational skills, students will create both functional and decorative pieces. The class wraps up with fun and functional final projects that showcase their creativity and growth. Downtown El Cajon will sparkle this holiday season with Holiday Lights in Downtown El Cajon on Saturday, November 29, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Families, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather for an evening filled with festive fun, live entertainment, and the magic of the season. The heart of Downtown El Cajon will transform into a winter wonderland where visitors can shop an artisan market featuring local vendors, experience the magic of a Snow Zone complete with Santa’s magic snow bubble machines, and enjoy a variety of kids activities throughout the night. Guests can take photos with Santa, listen to live music, and watch as the holiday tree comes to life during a special lighting ceremony led by Mayor Bill Wells at 6:15 p.m. Children will also delight in riding a trackless train through the beautifully decorated streets, adding to the evening’s holiday charm.
