At the close of the brewer’s day, we will use the brewery's fresh spent grain to make beautiful whole-grain artisan bread. Guests will make the Grainbakers Spent Grain Artisan Bread Dough. Nearly two years since their last San Diego show, Stick Men — featuring Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, and Markus Reuter — return to the Bornemann Theatre in San Marcos for a special holiday weekend performance. Formed in 2007, this progressive rock supergroup is known for its bold sound built around touch-style instruments like the Chapman Stick and the custom U8 guitar. Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson) anchors the trio with his legendary mastery of the Stick, while Mastelotto (King Crimson, Mr. Mister) fuses acoustic and electronic percussion, and Reuter adds depth and atmosphere through his innovative compositions. Together, the band’s members have contributed to records selling over 100 million copies worldwide. Opening the night is acclaimed Chapman Stick artist Tom Griesgraber, joined by guitarist Andre Cholmondeley of Project/Object. Griesgraber’s genre-defying performances and collaborations with artists like Steve Hackett, Al Di Meola, and California Guitar Trio promise an unforgettable start to the evening. San Diego Foundation ArtWalk is back at Liberty Station for its 20th year, bringing a weekend-long celebration of arts and culture to San Diego’s Liberty Station. The festival celebrates creativity from both sides of the border, with more than 175 artists coming from across several states and Mexico to show and sell their artwork, including paintings, photography, glass and ceramics, jewelry, and sculpture. For families, there will also be a KidsWalk with a variety of hands-on art activities and experiences. The ARTS DISTRICT at Liberty Station has earned its place as San Diego’s premier venue for arts, museums, dining, and entertainment. The fabulous outdoor setting features a verdant lawn and an abundance of free parking. The venue will have a perimeter fence, even though admission is free. The fence allows attendees to enjoy beer and wine (for those 21 years and over), while strolling around the event, rather than having to remain in a beer garden. Guests are asked to show their ID to receive a wristband to be able to purchase alcoholic beverages. Held every summer since 1998, the Carlsbad Village Association’s Art in the Village will return on Sunday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for its 27th year! This one-day, open-air art show brings together 150 local and regional fine artists for a dynamic, coastal-influenced art show. All artwork is juried guaranteeing excellent quality in a wide variety of mediums including oil, watercolor, mixed media, digital, glasswork, photography, woodworking, jewelry, pottery, sculpture, and more. Patrons can interact with the artists in their booths, and all artwork on display is for purchase. Celebrating the dynamic art culture in Carlsbad Village and the surrounding areas, this annual event attracts approximately 10,000 art enthusiasts each year. Starting at 10 a.m., just two blocks from Carlsbad State Beach, attendees can browse vibrant exhibits and meet the artists along State Street and Grand Avenue. This Disability Pride Month, join interdisciplinary artist duo Sensory Dimensions (Casey Hall-Landers & Elicia Neo) for the premiere of "My Body's Wake", a FREE multimedia experience at the City Heights Performance Annex. Through a visceral blend of body painting, live improvisational dance and violin, projection, and generative sound, "My Body's Wake" navigates the emotional terrains of grief, isolation, anger, and care - rooted in the artists' experience with chronic pain and dynamic disability. "Sensory Dimensions" depicts the experiences of disabled people with chronic illness and pain by immersing audiences in multi-sensory environments using a diverse range of artistic modalities to create accessible live art events. Founded by interdisciplinary dancer Casey Hall-Landers and multimedia violinist Elicia Neo through the Berklee NYC Masters program in Creative Media and Technology, the duo is fueled by a passion to create safe and welcoming spaces for all. "Sensory Dimensions" explores and recontextualizes pain through sensory and artistic pathways, using nature as a mirror to understand our bodies and integrating accessible design into their creative work.
