The Memphis Kings are a blues and roots band based in southern california. Originally formed over fifteen years ago with the intent to be a support band for touring musicians. The band’s sound has been influenced by the musicians they have supported. Over the years they have worked with California legends Lynwood Slim, James Harman, Big Jay Mc Neely, Big Sandy and Kid Ramos. They have also worked as the international musicians Nico Duportal, Si Cranstoun, and Paul Pigat to name a few. The band consists of drummer Ron Felton, bassist Jack O Roonie, and guitarist Tommy Harkenrider. The band often includes special guests for their shows. When available the Memphis Kings include Mando Dorame on Tenor Sax. Individually it’s members have performed nationally and internationally, and have respected recordings credits. Opening the show all the way from the UK are the Barrelhouse Kings’. These young multi-instrumental musicians perform traditional blues with authenticity.
