The annual Seven Oaks Holiday Craft Fair at the Seven Oaks Community Center happens Saturday, Dec. 6, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 16789 Bernardo Oaks Dr. in Rancho Bernardo (one mile east of I-15). Holiday shoppers will find an enormous selection of affordable, handmade gifts from more than 60 local makers. Items include sewn goods, photography, woodworking, ceramics, jewelry, plants and planters, edible gifts and more. The fair is free with free parking and is open to the public. Families are welcome, but please leave pets at home. Come out and finish your holiday shopping while supporting local artists and artisans.

The pumpkin season magic continues at our annual Fall Festival here at City Farmers Nursery. We welcome thirty local craftspeople and artists, including potters, bakers, painters, and welders, retailing handmade items for a festive, unique community craft experience. Our 40-year zucchini and pumpkin growing contest tradition continues at the Fall Festival. At 10 a.m. we’ll determine the winners of the Zucchini Growing Contest (17+), who will sign the “King Zuke” trophy and claim bragging rights for the year. At 11 a.m., we’ll crown the junior gardener winner of the Pumpkin Growing Contest (ages 3–16). At 12 p.m., we’ll host free games and prizes for all children in attendance. Plenty of free parking! Facilitator Bio: Catherine Greitzer is thrilled to teach her first class with The Actor’s Place! She earned her Masters degree and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts focusing on Theater Arts, costuming and stage makeup. She was a founding member of the PACT Theatre out of New York and Gross National Product Comedy team in Washington DC. She's been a director, actress, production and administrative assistant and an active member of advisory boards. (Somewhere along the line she also earned her MA in Teaching ESL!) Bringing new projects to theatre companies, Catherine has acted as producer, director and Assistant to the Playwright for the award-winning show, "Pushcart Tony" in Chicago. On the West Coast, Catherine has written reviews for several productions including for Carlsbad's New Village Arts. Ms. Greitzer has acted and directed at Oceanside's Brooks Theatre as well as with Fallbrook's Senior Theatre, "AGE Upon Stage." Catherine is SO happy to continue working with adults at FSA's "Readers Theatre" and after school with teens in "ACT UP! A Teen Drama Club." From August 1-3, Old Town’s iconic Bazaar del Mundo Shops will present its Latin American Market, transforming its courtyard into a small marketplace with genuine folk art, handwoven textiles, stunning jewelry and meticulously crafted ceramic and clay pottery made by “The Best of the Best.” This is an opportunity for guests to take a timeless piece of culture, tradition and history home, and enjoy live demonstrations, Latin guitar serenades and award-winning Mexican cuisine from neighboring Casa Guadalajara. This is a free event with opening hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
