Join us for a fun and informative art workshop led by Elsie Arredondo, an accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers and owner of ENA art group. During this workshop, you will learn simple tools to help you estimate the retail value of a piece of art. The workshop will take place in a relaxed open classroom setting, and you are welcome to drop by anytime between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. If you have a small artwork that you can carry safely on your own, you even have the option to bring it with you. Please note that Ms. Arredondo will be focusing on teaching you how to explore and understand your artwork, rather than providing formal appraisals. The process of mending changes our relationship with clothing, minimizes our environmental footprint, and gives us the opportunity to individualize what we wear. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn in the community of others, how to mend and decorate your favorite piece of clothing using the age-old traditions of the simple running stitch embroidery such as sashiko and kantha stitching, patching and darning while blending creative joy with usefulness. What you should bring: • A piece of clothing that needs mending, repair or embellishment (e.g. pair of jeans) • A scrap of fabric for patches (print works best, although the fabric shouldn’t be too thin) • & a thimble Instructor will provide: thread, darning/Sashiko needles, and will have some scrap fabric available too. This class is appropriate for ages 12 years and older.
