The opening reception is on Tuesday, March 25 at 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Meet the artists again on April 10 from 2-4 p.m. A portion of the sales will be donated to the San Diego River Park Foundation (SDRPF). The San Diego River Artists’ Alliance (SDRAA) is a collective of eighteen visual and 3D artists dedicated to spending time along the San Diego River from its source in mountains near Julian to the ocean. Time and experience along the river create the stories the artists retell in their artwork, celebrating its history, beauty and promise. SDRAA encourages the public to connect with the variety of experiences available along the river. Twelve artists will display work at the Grossmont College Hyde Art Gallery. The artists include Joan Boyer, Sue Britt, Cathy Coverley, Gloria Chadwick, Vicky DeLong, Kenda Francis, Jodie Hulden, Natasha Papousek, Susan Osborn, Janet Wytrych, Kathryn Gail Ackley, and Louis Russell. The work includes acrylic, photography, mixed media, glass, watercolor, oil, fiber arts and paper. The exhibit continues in the Patterson Window with seven cyanotype scrolls by Louise Russell. One scroll is the river’s voice and the others are storytellers voices. SDRAA is working alongside the San Diego River Park Foundation (SDRPF) to support its long-term vision of creating a 52 mile park system the length of the river.
