  • The Puffer Malarkey Collective (Animae, Herb & Wood, Herb & Sea) is teaming up with friends from some of San Diego’s top restaurants to throw their first Dockside Night Market, taking guests on a culinary journey inspired by San Diego’s abundance of fresh seafood. The evening will showcase the best of the city’s food scene for an energetic summer night by the water. The $100 entry fee will benefit Feeding San Diego and include bites from each participating restaurant, allowing guests to enjoy cuisine from San Diego’s hottest restaurants all in one place using an array of fresh seafood straight from the fishing boats. In addition to bringing the buzzing vibes found at iconic night markets all over the world, the evening will also feature a cash bar with sips from sponsors Campari and Suntory and DJ Julz Dela Peña spinning live all night. That is where Dogs on Deployment comes in, a national non-profit that connects at-risk service members with volunteers willing to board their pet’s while they’re deployed. To celebrate Armed Forces Day, Dogs on Deployment invites you to our first-ever concert and comedy series. The event will feature live music from AMERICAN IDOL contestant and viral singer-songwriter, Haley Reinhart, and San Diego-local band, 3 Car Garage. Additionally, Ashley Gutermuth, military spouse and winner of the Seinfeld’s Challenge on the TONIGHT SHOW, and Mike Vinn, veteran and manager of The Comedy Store La Jolla, will perform stand up comedy acts. Reflections was designed to serve adults 55 and older. The conversations around the artworks in MCASD’s collection will offer stimulating input and prompts for participants as they think about creating their own artworks. The hands-on workshop will provide a forum for self-expression and developing new interpersonal connections. Refreshments and time for social interaction will take place in Museum venues that take full advantage of the beautiful oceanside location and views. Transportation will be provided, if required. This session runs every Friday from May 12 – June 30.
