  • Get ready for a day of friendly competition, community spirit, and local flavor at the inaugural OMBAC on Third: Pickleball & Cornhole Tournament, coming to Downtown Chula Vista on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hosted by the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club (OMBAC), this first-of-its-kind event will transform Third Avenue between E and F Streets into a lively sports arena with roughly ten pickleball courts and thirty cornhole courts, all to benefit the Chula Vista Fire Department Heritage Foundation. Players and spectators alike can enjoy a full day of fun, food, and local entertainment. Third Avenue will be lined with local vendors and food options, while a beer garden on Davidson Avenue will feature craft brews from some of Chula Vista’s favorite breweries. Whether you’re competing for the top prize or cheering from the sidelines, it’s a great way to support a meaningful cause while celebrating the best of the community. Proceeds from the event will go toward the Chula Vista Fire Department Heritage Foundation, which provides humanitarian aid, education, and career guidance for those pursuing fire suppression careers.
