  • The San Diego Food Bank is excited to team up with Barons Market for our fourth annual Fall Food Drive! Right now, many of our neighbors are feeling the pressure of rising costs, making it harder to afford food and other basic needs. For these families, the Food Bank has become a place to turn for support, helping them put meals on the table in their time of need. However, we can’t do this important work alone.
  • Gelson's Market is hosting a Bubbles and Bites tasting event in collaboration with Laurent-Perrier, the renowned Champagne house, at Gelson’s Del Mar on Wednesday, December 4th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Guests will enjoy a four-course dinner, with each dish paired with Laurent-Perrier Champagne. The First Course is Grilled Sriracha Shrimp Skewers, Gelson's Prosciutto, and Brillat Savarin Triple Cream Cheese, paired with La Cuvée Brut NV. The Second Course is Antipasto Brochette Skewer and Toro Crudo, paired with Cuvée Rosé Brut NV. The Third Course is Lobster Salad and Cashew Chicken Skewers, paired with Blanc de Blanc Nature, and the Fourth Course is Duck Leg Confit, Parmigiano Reggiano, and Smoked Salmon and Caviar Deviled Eggs, paired with Grand Siècle. This event is limited to the first 36 RSVPs. Tickets are $85 per person plus tax and advanced purchase is required. RSVP by December 1st for further instructions and information.   • The exhibition "La Jolla Surf: Culture, Art, Craft" invites viewers into the world of surfing through iconic photography by Roy Porello, Jeff Divine, and Ron Church, original artwork by award winning designer John Van Hamersveld, and surf boards from the greatest shapers in the region. A central focus of the exhibition is original interview footage with local surfers created by Curator John Durant. Visitors will hear firsthand accounts of how the surfing community developed, how it has evolved over time, and the powerful connection to, and appreciation of the ocean and nature that surfing engenders.
