Trinity Theatre Company is thrilled to announce their Grown Up Stage’s production of "IFs (Imaginary Friends)" by Thomas J. Misuraca running from November 28th - December 14th. The production is directed by Mia Spencer. "IFs (Imaginary Friends)" runs at Trinity’s Mission Valley location in the Mission Valley Mall. She laments with her other recently released imaginary friends, knowing unless something changes, they’ll cease to exist. When their peer Dab, confesses that he’s been hanging out with an older woman who can see him, the others want to meet her. Bea ends up only able to see Pippin, but introduces them to some of her senior friends, and all but one imaginary friend now have real friends once again. But dealing with older friends has its challenges. Bea’s daughter, Jenna, is overly concerned for her mother. Even more so after Bea breaks her hip while “playing” with her friends. As Bea’s health continues to decline, her friends must fight for their rights as older folks. Ideal for ages 6-8! In this six-week course, students will explore the fundamentals of design while working hands-on with clay. Students will learn how to transform a lump of clay into a variety of forms, culminating in a final project that showcases their skills. Ceramics offers a multi-sensory learning experience that supports different learning styles and encourages problem-solving, fine motor development, and confidence through experimentation and revision. Along the way, students will also strengthen collaboration, critical thinking, and an appreciation for creativity, culture, and community. Join us for a three-day Lantern-Making Workshop at The Woo, presented in collaboration with All For Logan and inspired by the cultural traditions of Fiesta de la Guadalupana. This hands-on workshop invites participants of all ages to explore the history, symbolism, and storytelling that shape this beloved celebration. Across three guided sessions, attendees will learn the foundations of lantern construction, reflect on personal and collective narratives, and design illuminated lanterns using tissue paper, natural elements, photographs, text, and more. The workshop blends cultural education with creative expression, culminating in lanterns prepared for a community procession. Workshop Schedule: • Wednesday, December 10 | 5–8 p.m. Introduction to lantern-making, imagery, and the history behind the Feast Day. • Thursday, December 11 | 5–7 p.m. Building lantern panels, assembling tealight holders, and beginning lantern structure. • Friday, December 12 | 5–7 p.m. Final assembly, decorations, and preparation for community display. A Family Paws® Dog Aware® Program at the La Jolla Riford Library Teaches Kids 5–10 How to Read Dog Body Language and Stay Safe Around Pets Kindred Dog, a San Diego-based dog training and family education practice, announced today that founder Susie Petrucci, Ed.S., Certified Dog Trainer, Behavior Consultant, and Licensed Family Paws Parent Educator, will lead a Doggie Detective™ workshop for children and families on Saturday, December 13, at 10 a.m. at the La Jolla Riford Library. Part of the national Dog Aware® educational initiative by Family Paws®, Doggie Detective™ is a kid-friendly program designed to help children learn how to safely and confidently understand and interact with dogs, including their own pets at home. “Kids often adore dogs, but they don’t always know how dogs communicate,” said Susie Petrucci, founder of Kindred Dog. “We want children to feel empowered, confident, and safe when they’re around dogs.
