  • Learn to throw ceramics on a wheel! Saturdays, January 10, 17, 24 & February 7, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., with the last class of the series from 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. In this 4-week course, 3-hour per class series (each class is longer than our 5-week series), you’ll build a strong foundation in working with clay on the pottery wheel. Instructor Shachi Shah will teach you how to prepare clay, center it on the wheel, and create forms like cylinders, bowls, and mugs. You’ll also be introduced to trimming techniques and adding surface details like handles and texture. After a break to allow your work to be bisque fired, you’ll return for the final session to glaze and complete the cycle from raw clay to finished ceramic. This is a slow-paced, supportive class where exploration and experimentation are encouraged. Whether you’re brand new to clay or returning after a break, you’ll be guided at your own rhythm — with plenty of space to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow your confidence on the wheel. Projects will be ready to pick up 3-4 weeks after the last class. Beginners welcome. Ages 16+ years We recommend that each student bring an apron to wear and an older towel or a cloth rag. • Military, first responders and sibling discounts: Email us for more information. • Scholarships available: Click here for an application. • Homeschool funds accepted: Click here for enrollment details. • If this class is full, join the Interest List to be notified. • As the sun dips to its lowest point in the sky, the Winter Solstice invites us into the stillness of the shortest day and the magic of the longest night. For thousands of years, cultures around the world have honored this turning point—celebrating the rebirth of the sun, the renewal of spirit, and the promise of returning light. On this powerful evening, we gather in community to reflect, release, and reconnect. Our drumming becomes a heartbeat—echoing the rhythm of the waves, reminding us that everything in nature moves together. Whether you come for spiritual grounding, creative expression, or simply to find joy, this circle welcomes you. This gathering offers a space of sacred ritual and meaningful connection—between you, the community, and the greater rhythms of the Earth. Join us for this luminous celebration on Saturday, December 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, near the facilities building. Enjoy a spacious free parking lot, nearby facilities, and the warmth of community. Bring your drum, your spirit, and something comfortable to sit on. All levels and all traditions are welcome. Come experience the magic of the Solstice by the sea. Free will offerings accepted to benefit the work of ICEJ - the Interfaith Coalition for Earth Justice. Fire Ritual: - Intention Setting: Write down what you’re ready to release and what you’re ready to invite in. - Sacred Fire: Offer both papers to the fire—one to let go, one to bless your new path. - Release & Manifest: Allow the flames to carry away what no longer serves you and ignite the intentions you’re ready to bring forth. • Join us at Mantra Sukha Tea Lounge on December 28 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for a heart-centered evening of reflection, release, and intention as we prepare to welcome the new year. Guided by herbalist Haylee LaCroix, this gathering offers space to consciously close the chapter of the past year and envision what you wish to call forward in the one ahead. The evening will include drum healing, a hawthorn plant meditation, and time for community connection, creating a grounded and supportive container for inner listening and renewal. Hawthorn, a plant long associated with the heart, protection, and transition, will guide us as we soften, release, and set intentions rooted in clarity and care. This gathering is open to all and no prior experience is necessary. Come as you are, bring a journal if you wish, and allow yourself to be held in ritual, sound, and community as we step together into what’s next. Mantra Sukha on Facebook / Instagram
