  • Mama’s Kitchen is hosting its 33rd annual Mama’s Day fundraiser, a culinary event featuring San Diego’s best chefs, restaurants, catering companies, hotels, and more, at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront on Friday, May 3, at 5:30 p.m. The event features unlimited tasting from participating culinary partners. Attendees will also be treated to live entertainment from local artists and musicians, pop-up booths from retailers, a silent auction, and a photo booth to commemorate the evening. All proceeds from Mama’s Day are funneled directly to the non-profit’s delivery services, allowing for more critically ill San Diegans to receive free medically-tailored meal deliveries. Instructor Jeanine Ertl will provide guidance in a variety of Weaving Techniques and will surround you with warped looms to work on, tools to learn with, natural fibers, and foraged and gathered natural objects to incorporate into your weavings. Feel free to bring your own items to weave into your piece, especially if there are any fibers/yarns, stones/crystals, shells, leaves/grasses, etc. that you’d like to experiment with. Each weaver will complete a one-of-a-kind woven textile. We’ll have rods on hand for those who would like to adapt their pieces into wall hangings. And, if you find that you’re in love with the practice, you’ll have an option to purchase the loom you are working with, as well as additional fiber and tools to continue at home. Come explore mindfully making in a space of creativity & harmony with others. This workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to unlock their creativity for an afternoon of hands-on fiber fun, creating in a grounding space while making a one-of-a-kind, take-home woven piece.   • The Military Spouse Association of Camp Pendleton (MSACP) is a non-profit, all-volunteer, service organization, committed to helping our military families and surrounding communities. We are planning our 2024 fundraiser and want to personally invite you to join us! Our 24th Annual Margaritaville Benefit & Auction will take place on March 16, 2024 at Pacific Views Event Center, located aboard Camp Pendleton at 202850, San Jacinto Rd, Oceanside, CA 92058. Margaritaville is a live and silent auction and includes live entertainment, dinner, and opportunity giveaways. This event is attended by over 200 Senior Leadership, Marines, Sailors, their significant others and families, and local business leaders. Each year, the MSACP raises funds to provide college scholarships for military dependents stationed aboard or living near Camp Pendleton. The MSACP also awards Community Enrichment Grants to local organizations and projects that support our military families. Organizations include Semper Fi Fund, Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego, Dogs on Deployment, United through Reading, and more. All proceeds from the Benefit & Auction directly fund these efforts. The Benefit & Auction has been widely successful through generous sponsorships and donations by people and organizations such as you! We were thrilled to award over $190,000 in scholarships and grants over the last 3 years! We hope to see you there.
