She organized, led and emceed numerous gospel programs/concert events, and introduced high-profile quartet gospel groups, choirs, praise teams and single artists to the San Diego local community, California State and nationwide highly notable gospel venues. She was also the first premier African American female gospel radio DJ in the 60s, 70s and 80s in San Diego, and was deemed “The Queen Of Gospel Radio” in The City of San Diego, California. She was also the founder and originator of the Gospel Music Day held at the San Diego Del Mar Fair every summer for years also introducing numerous groups and solo artists that is still being featured to this very day. For years Ms. Murray personally provided community outreach providing food and Easter baskets for numerous low-income families that were in dire need in the immediate San Diego area.   • Spreckels Organ Society – a non-profit organization curating concerts and performances in the heart of Balboa Park – is inviting the public for a one-of-a-kind Insiders Tour of the inner-workings of the iconic Spreckels Organ, as well as a special brunch, on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be a continental brunch, on-stage seating, and an exclusive performance by San Diego Civic Organist Raúl Prieto Ramírez, who is also the Artistic Director of the Spreckels Organ Society. Curator Dale Sorenson will begin with an introduction on the mechanics of the Spreckels Organ, followed by the “Insiders Tour” of the Spreckels Organ (tour requires guests to be able to navigate stairs and tight spaces). This annual event is the only time the public will be allowed into the windchest while the organ is playing.
