Join Harry in an audience of just 35 people as he reveals – step by step – how magicians, card cheaters and mentalists fool the world. Expect part performance, part tutorial as Harry exposes many of the best tricks and illusions he knows. He’ll start you off easy, but as the show goes on, greater displays of card play unfold and exciting secrets are uncovered… Before participating, you will be asked to sign a legal contract of confidentiality. Please bear this in mind when electing to take part. Audiences will meet their host at the Potiker Box Office at La Jolla Playhouse, and be escorted to a backstage location to sign the contract and commence the experience. Without Walls (WOW) is La Jolla Playhouse’s signature performance program that takes art outside traditional theatre walls and into unique spaces, including the annual WOW Festival and WOW stand-alone productions. Approx 60 minutes with no intermission. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the performance time and give yourself time to stay afterwards as Harry will offer you the opportunity to stay at the table and ask questions after the show.   • On Friday, May 9, 2025, at 8 p.m., join us for a once-in-a-lifetime tribute concert to three of Mexico's most iconic musical figures -- Vicente Fernández, Juan Gabriel, and Rocío Dúrcal -- at the Magnolia Theater in El Cajon. This special concert, titled "Tribute to Three Greats," will feature a stunning performance by Mariachi Champaña Nevin, a world-renowned ensemble led by composer and trumpeter Jeff Nevin, Ph.D., who is widely considered a leading proponent of classical mariachi music. This unforgettable evening will transport the audience through a collection of timeless songs from these legendary artists, each performance evoking deep memories and emotions. With a 14-piece Mariachi accompanied by a 10-piece symphony orchestra, the show promises to be an emotional celebration of Mexico's musical heritage. Mariachi Champaña Nevin, who has been performing together internationally for the past five years, will bring the sounds of Mexico to life in a unique and breathtaking way. This will be the group's first performance in San Diego this year. Producer and promoter Javier Lugo, who grew up listening to the music of Fernández, Gabriel, and Dúrcal, has big plans to take this tribute on the road to share their unforgettable legacy with even more audiences.   • From the organizers: Join one of the Ilan Lael Foundation’s Visiting Artist Program (VAP) Fellows in an exciting afternoon of art and culture: Saturday, November 23rd from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Union Hall Gallery. At 2 p.m., Visiting Artist Fellow Karla Cordero will host a poetry reading of her work juxtaposed with the work of VAP Fellows and the late James Hubbell’s in a unique ‘poetry conversation’.
