  • Join Fox’s “Next Level Chef” co-star and Bravo’s “Top Chef All-Stars” winner Richard Blais and his wife, Jazmin for a one-night meet and greet event to celebrate the launch of the couple’s first collaborative cookbook “Plant Forward: 100 Bold Recipes for a Mostly Healthy Lifestyle.” Taking place at California English, Blais’ fine-casual restaurant showcasing cheeky cuisine inspired by the Southern California coast and English pub classics, on Wednesday, November 29 from 5:30pm to 7pm. Attendees of the event will receive a signed copy of the book along with the opportunity to meet Richard and Jazmin. This is Richard’s third cookbook and the first one he has done in collaboration with his wife, Jazmin. San Diego marks the final stop in Richard and Jazmin’s cookbook tour. Tickets can be purchased online for $49. “Plant Forward” offers a look inside the Blais’ kitchen showing how the couple eats and maintains healthy habits when the TV cameras are off. Richard and Jazmin team up to show you how to have fun with cooking, taking produce to an entirely new level without having to abandon meat or dairy entirely! The book features 100 bold recipes for a mostly healthy lifestyle without abandoning meat or dairy entirely.   • In instructor Jeanine Ertl’s class, students will weave together in a space of colorful creativity and openness. She will provide instruction on weaving, a warped lap loom and a rainbow of recycled sari silk ribbon and yarn fibers to ignite your imagination. And we’ll weave together, learning and playing with the basics of the process from start to finish, each creating a unique handwoven that can be hung or draped, according to your desires. Please feel free to bring any items you may want to incorporate into your weaving, like interesting fibers, foraged and gathered natural objects, shells with holes, beads, etc. you may want to incorporate into your weaving. No experience necessary. Ages 14+ welcome! Each Weaver will complete a one-of-a-kind Handwoven Wall Hanging. In addition, if you find that you’re in love with the practice, you will have an option to purchase the loom you are working with, as well as additional fiber and tools to continue at home.
