Please note, if bringing your own sewing machine, it is very important to make sure it is fully functional before class. Whether you’ve never touched a sewing machine before or need a refresher after time away, this introductory class is designed to give you a solid foundational understanding of how to use a sewing machine so that you can step into our project-based classes with confidence. You’ll learn how to wind a bobbin; thread the machine; adjust stitch length/width; use decorative stitches; sew gentle curves; pivot and turn corners (on the machine and with the iron); and experiment with buttonholes and elastic. You’ll leave with a stitch sampler notebook cover and inner journal so you can take notes through the class and leave with a tactile reminder of your new skills!
