KPBS Kids offers a wide range of programming to cultivate diverse audiences and educate, enlighten, and entertain families in the San Diego region. Events serve to create a connection between KPBS in the San Diego community and beloved PBS Kids programming. KPBS Kids also serves as a connector in the community to bring together partner organizations and facilitate the sharing of resources.

Tuesdays, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. February 4–25 (4 Weeks, 12 total hours of instruction) AAC Art Studio Experience the fun in “fun-ctional” ceramics! Learn and develop your hand-building pottery skills with three projects, such as a set of nesting plates, a berry bowl, and your own custom mug. Each class will introduce a new project to work on, which will require practicing different techniques to get to the final assembled piece. The last class will be reserved for glazing all the work produced during the class. At the class's completion, you will take home your glazed projects, finished and ready to be used. Beginning to intermediate students are welcome. Materials: The materials fee includes clay, glazes, firings, and the use of basic tools. It is recommended that students bring an apron and a hand towel for cleanup, as well as a notebook and pencil to write down instructions and sketch ideas. Using repurposed and eco-friendly materials, Muschenetz transforms palm frond bark that sheds during San Diego's windy storms into vivid and expressive creatures that enchant kids and adults alike. Join us for the opening reception of "Rare Breed", a public event featuring new paintings by celebrated local artist, Kelly Vivanco.
