  • The San Diego Veterans For Peace will set up their Hometown Arlington West Memorial on Monday, November 11th, 2024, which is both Armistice Day and Veterans Day, on the lawn in front of the USS Midway Museum at 910 N. Harbor Drive, SD, CA. 92101. This memorial, modeled after the headstones at Arlington National Cemetery, honors the nearly 300 fallen servicemen and servicewomen from the four southernmost counties in California, who died in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. Chapter members of all services will be on hand to provide information to the public about the display and to read the names and data about each of the fallen, with the assistance of the public. The event will close and be put away at 4 p.m. The press and public is asked to stop by, honor the fallen, read their names, and reflect on this aspect of the cost of war.
