FILM FORUM CORONADO: 'Out of the Past'

Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 6 PM to 8:45 PM
Coronado Public Library
Free

Coronado Public Library, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library's Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story.

Delve into the murky world of seductive femme fatales, morally dubious antiheroes and long , lonely streets. We celebrate NOIRVEMBER with a cinematic landmark—"Out Of The Past."

November 20: "Out of the Past" (1947, Not Rated, 97 min)

Bristling with hard-boiled dialogue, this is a beguiling voyage into pulp fiction. A former private eye (Robert Mitchum) makes a rendezvous with his past when he becomes enthralled by a mysterious, danger-courting woman (Jane Greer). Co-starring Kirk Douglas.
