Cellist Lars Hoefs and pianist Aline Alves come back to Southern California from Brazil, presenting their Villa-Lobos Festival. They will play music by a range of Latin American composers in this three concert series. The second concert of this year's festival, “Brazilian Poetry, Eyes of the Beloved, and Bachianas Mexicanas," will feature a variety of musicians and instruments including: Daniel Parente, soprano, Daniel Kamon on saxophone, Ching-Ming Cheng on piano, Lars Hoefs on cello, Aline Alves performing poetry recitation, and Venus Rey Jr., a visiting composer and speaker. This concert is free and no reservations are required. Seating is first-come, first-served, general admission. Doors open at 12:45 p.m. This concert is presented in partnership with Coronado Arts.

After-School Sewing Class // Ages 8-12 Students in this course will develop essential sewing skills, utilizing both hand-sewing techniques and the sewing machine. Over the course of six weeks, they’ll learn safety practices, stitching basics, machine navigation, and troubleshooting, while growing more confident in their technical abilities. As they explore idea development and practice foundational skills, students will create both functional and decorative pieces. The class wraps up with fun and functional final projects that showcase their creativity and growth. Experience lively Renaissance and Medieval music in a setting that brings new warmth and energy to this special holiday performance. Courtly Noyse is a five-person vocal and instrumental ensemble donning Renaissance apparel and playing replica instruments from the period. Hear the group perform a full set of classic songs and carols with traditional Renaissance instruments and soaring vocals.
