The new 5,500-square-foot facility, located in the former G3Kids space, is scheduled to open to the public in November 2025, offering classes, camps, parties, open gym, and drop-and-shop programs designed to inspire confidence and character through movement. "You can literally shop Gucci downstairs and do back handsprings upstairs. It's a perfect blend of luxury, legacy, and laughter." The UTC location will feature Gyminny Kids' signature bright white "gym heaven" design, which is modern and inspiring for children and parents alike. All-inclusive programs include: - Preschool & School-Age Gymnastics Classes - Bungee Bouncers & Tumbling - Camps, Parties & Open Gyms - After-School Programs & Xcel Team Training - Drop-Off While You Shop convenience options for mall visitors - Special Needs VIP classes - State-of-the-art Olympic equipment Gundert, who began coaching at Gyminny Kids over 20 years ago and later purchased the company from its founders, has transformed the brand into the largest gymnastics organization in Southern California, serving thousands of children each week across its five locations: Poway, 4S Ranch, La Costa, Carlsbad, and now La Jolla (UTC Westfield Mall). "Our mission is simple—teach life through gymnastics," Gundert added. "Every cartwheel builds confidence, every class builds character, and every smile reminds us why we do this." The soft opening celebration (November 9, 2025, 1-5 p.m.) at UTC will be free and open to the community, featuring giveaways, performances, open gym, and meet-and-greet opportunities with coaches and staff. With a mission of "fun and fitness for all ages," Gyminny Kids combines athletic excellence, emotional development, and character-building in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment. The company currently operates five locations throughout San Diego County and is recognized nationally as a model for community-based youth development. Unlike most children's activity centers that rely on short-term or seasonal staffing, Gyminny Kids is built on a team of career professionals—dedicated coaches, office associates, and managers who have made youth development their life's work. Many team members have been with the company for five to ten years, and three employees have served for over thirty years. This level of retention is virtually unheard of in the industry. It is a major reason families experience such consistent excellence, warmth, and care the moment they enter. For more info on Gyminny Kids programs or to register early for the UTC Founder's Club, please visit gyminnykids.com/lajolla! This free event is open to the community, but please RSVP by emailing info@gyminnykidslajolla.com with the number of attendees and the 30-minute time frame you would like to attend within the 1-5 p.m. time slot. Thank you.
