Thirty-nine San Diego Potters Guild juried members fill the Spanish Village Art Center patio with thousands of handcrafted pots, unique and distinctive, choosing the clay, form, shape, design, surface, decoration, glaze and firing technique. There'll be colorful bowls, wonderful plates and serving platters with imaginative designs, hundreds of beautiful mugs, carved and decorated vases and bottles, fabulous teapots, unusual planters and complex sculptures. Artists Andrea Tarman and Walter Redondo have created paintings that are more than décor. They’re portals to joy, the beauty of nature, the excitement of discovery and sparks of upliftment. The Olaf Wieghorst Museum and Western Heritage Center in El Cajon opens an exhibition of the "Etchings of Olaf Wieghorst" on Friday, September 12, 2025. Twenty-six (26) original etchings created by Olaf Wieghorst between 1937 and 1940 along with an original copper etching plate will be displayed. Olaf’s etchings feature rodeo themes, cowboys, horses and frontier landscapes. The public is invited to view the original art beginning at 4 p.m. Admission is free. This event is part of the 14h Annual Alley Cat Art Walk. All art galleries and restaurants in Downtown El Cajon will be open with live entertainment on Main Street.
