An arrogant film producer (James Coburn) lures six of his Hollywood friends to holiday on his yacht, aiming to unmask one of them as the killer of his wife Sheila. The star-studded cast features James Mason, Racquel Welch, Dylan Cannon, Joan Hackett and Richard Benjamin. Cinema Under the Stars is an intimate outdoor movie theater in Mission Hills with single and double zero-gravity reclining lounge chairs, sky-boxes and love seat cabanas. Heaters, pillows and blankets are provided. A vintage cartoon is shown before most films. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended. Members may make phone reservations up to one week in advance. Each week introduces a new artistic skill—like mixing colors, using different brushstrokes, and creating simple shapes and textures—while encouraging kids to express their own unique ideas. Students will work with acrylic paints on paper and canvas as they create landscapes, animals, abstract art, and more. Throughout the course, artists will: - Discover primary and secondary colors - Practice brush control and basic painting techniques - Learn how to plan and build a picture step-by-step - Explore creative themes that spark storytelling and self-expression - Build confidence as young artists through positive guidance and fun learning environment By the end of six weeks, each artist will have a portfolio of artwork and a stronger understanding of how to use paint as a tool for creativity.   • Explore ceramic handbuilding & funky glazes! Mondays, January 5, 12, 19, 26, February 9, from 6-8:30 p.m., with the last class of the series from 6-9 p.m. Ages 15+ welcome! In this 5-week series, students will learn the basics of handbuilding to create functional pieces with an emphasis on decorative techniques. Working with mid fire clay, we will explore various methods of building forms and decorative techniques with underglazes, slips, glaze, and various experimental materials. Students will complete multiple projects throughout the course with an artistic and creative approach to decorative designs. Inspired by printmaking, painting and drawing, we will explore image transfers, mark making, layering, stencils, and more! Through the use of technique and materials, students will explore the fusion of 2D art and 3D form. Students will be able to utilize a wide array of glazes and colors through the course. The instructor will have a wide array of custom decorative materials for use and sale. Projects will be ready to pick up 3-4 weeks after the last class. All materials provided.
