Exhibition on view Nov. 18 - Dec. 12, 2024. The San Diego Mesa College Art Gallery cordially invites you to experience "Dreamscape: Beyond the Veil," a student-curated exhibition. Human beings have always been fascinated with the mysteries of the subconscious and the visions that lurk beneath the surface of logic and reason. The Museum Studies class has curated an exhibition featuring 54 talented local artists whose work is inspired by dreams in all their forms. Join us for the reception on November 21 to participate in a thought-provoking interactive piece by artist group Gal Crew. "Dreamscape: Beyond the Veil" invites viewers to contemplate how dreams shape our understanding and experience of the world. Highlighting symbolic explorations of the natural and mythical, this exhibition promises a captivating encounter with the world of the unconscious. This intriguing and engaging exhibition was developed under the guidance of Professor Alessandra Moctezuma and Gallery Coordinator Jenny Armer. For the Main Course, diners can select between Cider & Herb Brined Diestel Turkey with Whipped Garnet Yams, Haricots Verts & Toasted Almonds, Sausage & Apple Stuffing, Madera Gravy, Honey-Citrus Cranberry Relish (paired with Cru, Pinot Noir, Santa Lucia Highlands); or Dijon Crusted Smoked Prime Rib with Pomme Fondant, Charred Broccoli Rabe, Roasted Shallot Jus and Creamed Horseradish (paired with Daou, Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles). For a Finale, guests can select between Pumpkin Crème Brulée with Maple Pecan Snap and Brandied Fruit or White Chocolate Cranberry Cheesecake with Candied Cranberries, Orange Liquor Anglaise (paired with Taylor Fladgate 10-year Tawny Porto). The meal is offered on Thursday, November 28, from 4 - 9 p.m. and is priced at $69+ per person. Optional wine pairing is an additional $34.

Eclectic, immersive, and mesmerizing; internationally acclaimed guitarist and songwriter Hiroya Tsukamoto takes us on an innovative, impressionistic journey filled with earthy, organic soundscapes that impart a mood of peace and tranquility. Hiroya is a one-of-a-kind guitarist and composer. Born and raised in Kyoto, Japan, he received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in 2000. Since then, he has been performing internationally including the United Nations, the Blue Note in New York, and Japanese National Television.
