  • The Hemlock Society of San Diego presents a showing of the recently released documentary, "Last Flight Home," followed by a discussion led by Faye Girsh, co-founder of the Hemlock Society of San Diego. Filmmaker Ondi Timoner documented the last days of her father, Eli, a highly accomplished man who became paralyzed and bedridden. Eli decided to medically terminate his life under California's End-of-life Option Act. During the 15-day waiting period, the film chronicles Eli's goodbyes to those closest to him as he helps them prepare for his departure. While his loved ones look back on Eli's successes and devastating blows, they struggle to reconcile his choice.
  • The Watershed Explorers Summer program is an exciting and educational program offered by the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy and San Dieguito River Park. Students ages 10–14 explore the San Dieguito River watershed through hands-on activities and field trips. Participants will learn about conservation, the importance of preserving natural habitats, and the impact of human activity on our environment.
