  • Located above the Flower Fields, ArtWalk Carlsbad is back for its 6th year, bringing fine art, live music, and interactive art experiences, offered free to attendees. In a venue overlooking the ocean, guests can explore different facets of art, while enjoying beautiful coastal views. The weekend-long festival focuses on fine art for sale by local artists, as well as those who travel from all over the U.S. and Mexico to show and sell their work. The event will display every medium of art, including painting, sculpture, glass work, fine jewelry, photography and more. More than 150 fine artists’ work will be featured, along with interactive art for families at KidsWalk, a full palette of musical performers, food trucks and stands, and more. The event will be fenced, even though admission is free; the fence allows attendees to enjoy beer and wine (to those 21-years and over), while strolling around the event, rather than having to remain in a Beer Garden. New this year, there will be a pavilion, sponsored by Wilsey Asset Management, to offer shade for the warm early fall weekend. It will be located in the middle of the event, adjacent to the Beer Garden and midway music stage, providing some additional seating.   • "Walking In Beauty, Life as Ceremony" is a new exhibition at the Bonita Museum and Cultural Center from November 8 - 30, 2025, displaying information about missing and murdered indigenous women. Organized and curated by Artivists Way of the Sacred Mountain organization, Teyana Viscarra and Norm Sands with Heather Gallana, Indigenous Cultures Educator at the museum. The Honoring Ceremonies with blessings will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Way of the Sacred Mountain is an Indigenous-led, grassroots partnership that breaks the silence on the brutal truths of the past and the continuing injustices of the present. Through the exhibition, the artivists hope to raise awareness of crucial issues impacting Indian Country, especially the crisis of MMIW, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Warriors. They provide a safe space and a call for healing through prayer, action, and remembrance. This is a free public exhibition and event. During the Opening Ceremony on November 8, visitors will experience Kumeyaay culture as well as crafts and food.   • On September 4 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Hello Mazda of San Diego is hosting a test drive event at James Madison High School as part of its Be Moved Drive Program. This program is designed to deliver substantial donations to individual schools and their unique programs through dealer-hosted test-drive events. The San Diego community ages 18+ with a valid US driver’s license are invited to ride and drive a Mazda vehicle to earn a $50 donation for James Madison High School - up to $10,000! The funds will benefit the school’s Automotive Technology Program, helping students discover what inspires them so they can do more of what moves them. Education plays a crucial role in empowering students, and this program is one way Mazda is investing in students and uplifting the community. James Madison High School focuses on preparing students for a specific trade or occupation. The students in this pathway can apply and extend concepts studied in their math and science classes to the automotive technology industry in the school’s state of the art eight bay automotive shop. The Mazda Be Moved funding will help pay stipends for student internships with their local dealers. They will also use the funds to purchase shop shirts and a series of patches for each certification that students can earn. Walk-ups are welcome, register on site during the event.
