El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells called on SANDAG to conduct an independent investigation into the South Bay Expressway possibly incorrectly charging motorists.

With the increased number of travelers and the new Terminal 1 construction in full swing, the airport authority on Monday encouraged passengers and those picking up and dropping off to plan ahead.

The National Weather Service issued a high-wind warning effective until 2 p.m. Tuesday in the downtown San Diego, Escondido, El Cajon, San Marcos, La Mesa, Santee, Poway and mountain areas.

Prices of homes in San Diego County dropped in October from the previous month, but still remained above the prices of a year ago.

The unemployment rate in San Diego County increased to 4.2% in October, up from a revised 4.1% in September 2023, and above the year-ago estimate of 3.3%.

Mostly dry conditions are in the forecast Friday for San Diego County, but more rain is on the way Saturday.

Earlier this month, supervisors unanimously voted to oppose any further placements of sexually violent predators until local jurisdictions are able to fully participate in the placement process, including having full veto authority.
