Former San Diego State standout Kawhi Leonard will not play for the U.S. Olympic men's basketball team, USA Basketball announced Wednesday just hours before its exhibition opener against Canada in Las Vegas.

An excessive heat warning remained in effect for desert areas until at least 9 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

At Wednesday's Public Safety Committee meeting, SDPD will argue that infrastructure issues such as power problems or objects blocking the camera view prevented installations of the technology at 42 locations.

According to Caltrans, the selected projects will "help reduce planet- warming pollution, improve resiliency of the state highway system, enhance access to safe walkways and bike paths and expand natural disaster preparedness."

Lack of fair wages and adequate benefits led to a breakdown of negotiations on Monday, the union said.

Eleven San Diego County stores would be sold off in the proposed merger.

The announcement comes after a judge struck down San Diego's COVID-19 vaccine mandate, saying only the state can make that a requirement.

Earlier this month, supervisors unanimously voted to oppose any further placements of sexually violent predators until local jurisdictions are able to fully participate in the placement process, including having full veto authority.
