Tom Fudge: Pets are part of the family, and they are part of the Christmas celebration. At my house, every Christmas morning we used to put red ribbon around the neck or our old brown Lab Clifford, who's now celebrating the holidays in dog heaven. This time of year raises a number of issues about pets, including the decision of whether pets should be Christmas presents.
