Cool Videos By ICE Gallery In North Park

The guys/artists behind the ICE Gallery in North Park have been getting some good press lately. Kinsee Morlan over at CityBeat wrote a nice primer on the space and Kelly Bennett (Voice of San Diego) profiled the first artist/co-founder Joseph Huppert to show in the space (the exhibition schedule is composed of solo shows by the four founders).

But these guys have also created some great videos or "video fliers" for their shows, all shot by artist and co-founder Michael James Armstrong. Armstrong told me in an email he's filming the artists and gallery as part of a larger documentary project. The videos are visually interesting, look great, and provide a quick behind-the-scenes look at the artists' processes.

I love to see this kind of stuff coming out of San Diego. Are other artists documenting their process in video? Are there young San Diego filmmakers out there making videos and short films about the creative process? If so, please get in touch: acarone@kpbs.org.
