Three months after the Great East Japan Earthquake, Japanese public broadcaster NHK produced a three-part documentary series, "NHK World Special: Standing Up, Moving Forward," featuring people in the affected region trying to overcome the sorrow and recover from the devastation.

The third episode features a family who is living in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture. Ishinomaki is a town focused on the fishing industry. Mr. Kimura is a third generation owner of Oyster cultivation, but his house has been destroyed by the tsunami, and sadly on top of this, he lost his wife and his eldest son. The program will follow Mr. Kimura and his two daughters.
