New polling suggests more California voters strongly support the federal health law than in the past two years.
Thirty-eight percent of those polled said they strongly support the Affordable Care Act, and more than half favored the law in general.
Mark DiCamillo from the Field Poll commented that "Californians continue to be more supportive of the health reform law than Americans generally. The nationally public is either evenly divided or somewhat opposed, but Californians throughout this three year period have been consistently supportive."
Thirty-seven percent of California voters had some degree of opposition this year. Ethnic groups and young people were more likely than not to support the health overhaul.
More than half said they saw the health law as a first step in more needed health system changes.
